Ugadi Celebrations & Release of Souviner

Vijaya Nama Samvatsara Ugadi was celebrated by our Association at Rotary Club Auditorium, Church Road, Jaipur on the evening of 11th April 2013 with pomp and enthusiasm.  The function was attended by a large number of our members, their families and some distinguished invitees. The festival fervor was seen in all the attendees, the number being more than expected. After initial introductions and exchange of pleasantries, the celebration has started at the scheduled time in the evening with the auspicious recitations of Vishnu Sahasranama, Sri Lakshmi Ashtothara Sathanama Stothram, Kanakadhara Stothram, etc. Both ladies and gents recited them in a single tone and with great devotion. After this auspicious ritual the main programme was started with an invocation rendered by Smt. Chandramma. President of our Association Sri K. Rama Mohan presided over the function. Chairman Sri B. Krishna Murthy and other dignitaries were on the dais. Our Association’s Secretary Dr. J. Mani was the master of ceremony. All the dignitaries opined that the Association is doing well and still can grow in various avenues. Activities of the Association were highlighted by the Secretary and Treasurer, Sri K.V. Rajeswara Rao. The Souvenir of our Association 'TELUGU VANI' was released during the function. District Collector of Jaipur Sri T. Ravikant, IAS has sent his well wishes to the Association and all the members. The Souvenir contains a good number of quality articles in Telugu, English as well as in Hindi. A large number of organisations supported us by their generous contributions through  placing their advertisements in our Souvenir.    The cultural programme of the Ugadi day included Ganesh Vandanam, Vishnu sahasranama parayanam, Panchanga Sravanam by Prof. K. Samba Siva Murthy, also Editor of the Souvenir, Classical and light music by Chandramma garu and  K.V.S. Madhava Rao garu, Instrumental music by Mr. Tejaswi of LNM IIT, and Chy Pratyush.  The special attraction was the dance of well known dancer Smt. M.S. Asha who staged Kuchipudi dance Tarangam and Bhama kalapam.   Ugadi Pachadi was distributed after Panchnga sravanam. In all, the function celebrating our new year of 2013-14, i.e., Vijayanamasamvatsara Ugadi was a great success. At the end of the cultural programmes, all the members who contributed for the success were felicitated by the President with Mementos. The celebration was culminated with dinner and adieu to all those participated.
